Since 1993, Susan Boreliz has taught tap, jazz, lyrical, and improvisational dance at various public schools and Bay Area dance studios. She established a youth performance group, which toured throughout the Bay Area, and she was a performer and choreographer for Move Dance Theatre in Oakland. Throughout her dance career, she has performed at the Marin Center, Stanford University, Lesher Center for the Arts, Yoshi’s, the Kaiser Arena, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She produced an after-school program for the South of Market Recreation Center (now the Gene Friend Recreation Center). Ms. Boreliz has served as a board member and selection chairperson for the San Francisco Chapter of New Leaders Council, and she continues to mentor emerging entrepreneurs. Since 1996, she has been providing consulting, administrative, project liaison and coordination services for diverse industries in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Region.
Krissy Gray began her marketing career in the Motion Picture Industry, where she was the Director of In-Theater Marketing for Gramercy Pictures, Destination Films and Focus Features. She had the privilege of marketing the Academy Award winning films Fargo, Dead Man Walking, The Usual Suspects and The Piano. She also collaborated on, designed and oversaw a number of special events ranging from movie premieres, Oscar parties, trade shows and conventions while in Los Angeles. After moving back to the Bay Area, Ms. Gray ran the Marketing and Special Events department for a risk management company and most recently was the Managing Director for Diablo Theatre Company, producing a number of musicals including Shrek The Musical, Singin’ in the Rain and Guys and Dolls. In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Gray is a trained dancer and holds a BA in Dance from Loyola Marymount University. She has danced in many Bay Area productions, as well as in performances around the world.
Guest Services Manager
Melissa Hardy has worked in the private sector of industry as well as the public and private school systems for thirty-five years. She has enjoyed a career in education, fundraising and communications. Ms. Hardy took her first ballet lesson at the age of five, which spurred her passion for dance and theater. Throughout her life, she has danced and acted in school and community productions, as well as designed sets, painted backdrops, and constructed costumes. She holds a BA Degree in Fine Arts and Education from San Jose State University and a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Oregon. Ms. Hardy has been Diablo Ballet's Guest Services Manager since 2014.
Peek Outreach Program Associate Director
Edward Stegge received his training on full scholarship at the San Francisco Ballet, and also received training at the School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. He danced with the Colorado Ballet for ten seasons, performing the Cavalier in "The Nutcracker", Franz in "Coppelia", Bluebird in "Sleeping Beauty", and alternate leading roles in Alvin Ailey's "The River". Mr. Stegge was a guest artist with Minnesota Dance Theater, under direction of the late Loyce Houlton, and has performed extensively throughout Japan. He returned to California in 2000 and performed with Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Oakland Ballet, and with the San Francisco Opera Ballet. Since joining Diablo Ballet in 2002, Mr. Stegge has performed the title role in Julia Adam's "The Little Prince", George Balanchine’s "Tarantella Pas de Deux" and "Who Cares", KT Nelson's "Walk before Talk" and Val Caniparoli’s "Aquilarco" Pas de Deux. In 2014, Mr. Stegge retired as a dancer and assumed the position of PEEK Associate Director, where he works with under-served school children and youth incarcerated in the Juvenile Justice System, teaching them self esteem, group process, and expressing oneself through movement.
DAN MEAGHERAudience Development
Dan Meagher has successfully marketed performing arts organizations all over the United States for the past 10 years. He is thrilled to rejoin Diablo Ballet to create the organizations first audience development and digital strategy department. Most recently, Mr. Meagher was Director of Marketing and Communications for the San Francisco Opera's Merola Opera Program, where he achieved some of the largest ticket and membership sales in the company's history. He was also recognized by Opera America for his work in bringing new audiences into the art form. Mr. Meagher has also served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the San Francisco Playhouse where he created the first "tweet seat" program in the Bay Area. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Meagher was Diablo Ballet's Director of Marketing where he developed the renowned Web Ballet project which crowd sourced the world's first ballet work via social media. The project received national and international coverage in the New York Times, the Huffington Post, The Guardian UK, and may other media outlets. For this work, Mr. Meagher was recognized by Americans for the Arts for his creative work utilizing social media to expand the reach of dance.
