Diablo Ballet is an award-winning, internationally recognized, professional dance company committed to enriching, inspiring, and educating children and adults through the art of dance. It has always been an important objective of Diablo Ballet to have a Ballet School associated with the Company and that dream became a reality in 2019.

The Diablo Ballet School is the first in Contra Costa County’s history to be run by a professional ballet company.  The School begins teaching students from ages 3 through 6 where pre-ballet lays the foundation for further study of classical ballet. Beginning at age seven (or turning seven during the school year), students are placed in Level 1 and advance according to age, experience, and ability, with Level 5 being the advanced students.

Diablo Ballet School has a dual mission: to train classical ballet dancers who wish to pursue a professional career in ballet and to offer young children and adults in the Bay Area an introduction to classical ballet and the joy of dance.  Guided by Diablo Ballet’s professional dancers and company artistic staff, who have had esteemed careers, students learn the fundamentals of traditional classical ballet technique.

Our goal is to provide a healthy and enjoyable learning environment.

Diablo Ballet’s Professional Trainee Program is by invitation only and open to Ballet Level 5 students who wish to pursue a career as a professional ballet dancer. Click here for more information!
